RT @markdhawkes: If we are a entrapped by bitterness it will only destroy us. God wants to rid us of the consequences of bitterness. Forgiveness = Freedom

Fellowship Sunday

There has been a desire in my heart for us to be a church that is united and that grows in being a much better representation of what it means for us to be the Body of Christ. I have been preaching a lot on the idea that we need to have unity within our own congregation in order to be a light that shines brighter in our community and around the world.

To be honest, I never really thought of how challenging it would be to unite a church that has two different languages, and two different cultures. The lack of attention this website in itself has received is just proof that, to mix two totally different people group together is difficult. How do you do it equally? How do you meet the specific needs of each? How do you deal with differences in expressions of worship, attention needs, and everything else involved with it?

So, we came up with this idea that maybe if we spent more time together, not around songs or teaching, but just «being» together it would help grow bonds between cultures. That «being» in the same place together by sharing coffee together, exchanging a smile even though we cannot communicate beyond that, giving each other a small little cupcake… maybe we would realize that our church crosses over language and culture. That one thing unites us, and that is the love of Christ in each one of us there.

So, will you join us? Join us for this time of fellowship on the 1st Sunday of each month. We meet between the English and the French service from 10:30 to 11:00. I’ll be looking forward to pouring you a cup of coffee and hopefully make you feel right at home.
